Summary of Work BackgroundI am a lead researcher with Magnetic Ideas, with an MA in Critical Theory and have worked in the higher education sector for the last 8 years with particular ties to the University of Brighton student services and their student union. Published research while working there includes a research report on Opportunities in Graduate Employment.

At Magnetic Ideals I am currently engaged in a piece of community research work on hygiene poverty with Harriet’s Press in Brighton. This is action research where I am the lead researcher conducting interviews, collecting case studies, and developing resources that will help improve the service they offer.

I am currently writing a peer reviewed article for the second edition of the Sonic Rebellions publication around the themes of capitalism and artist ownership with Elizbeth Veldon PhD, and Daniel Hignell-Tully PhD.

I have worked in widening participation in STEM subjects, which has included improving gender diversity.  I have expertise in employability and monitoring the job market, as well as working in community and SME placements for graduate students. I have worked on several research projects in higher education with Magnetic Ideals and the University of Brighton. Prior to this I worked in ethical market research, music promotion, and various administrative and customer service roles.

Recent research for Magnetic Ideals I have contributed to includes a contribution to the work for the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) project on anti-precarity movements in Europe. This report will be launched on 30 October 2024 via an EASA webinar and will be open source.
